About Batak İhaleli

Batak İhaleli most popular card game in Turkey. Batak master is a variant of trick-taking card game Spades.

Batak is also known by many other names, Oh Hell!, Elevator, Up & Down the River, Nomination Whist, Bust, Boerenbridge, Kachuful, Spades King, Okey 101, Poker Kingdom, Kozani spades, Recessed Batak, Batak Paired and German Bridge.

Batak can be played by 4 players and with 52 cards. There are two types of Batak: Ihaleli Batak and Koz Maca. In Ihaleli Batak, the players can decide the trump cards and in Koz Maca the trump cards are spade.

The game has two variants: Simple Batak and Auction Batak.

Simple batak game: the object is for each player to bid the number of tricks he thinks he can take in the hand, then to take at least that number of tricks.

Auction batak game: a player offering higher bid wins the auction. He has to take bid number of tricks or more. Other players have to win at least one trick.
