About Lyric: Songwriting, Poetry, Lyrics, & Rap Notepad

Lyric is the best notepad and tool for poets, rappers, lyricists, and song writing. This application keeps track of your rhyme and syllable schemes, helps you look up new words, take side notes, and much, much more. I listen to feedback and constantly update the app with new features.

Rhyme matching
Lyric automatically checks your lyrics for rhymes. Whenever you finish typing, rhyming words with automatically be color-coded. You also have options like increasing rhyme sensitivity to include near rhymes and only matching words at the end of the line.

Syllable Counter
The syllable counter keeps track of the syllables in each line of your lyric. The syllable count is displayed to the left side of the screen. A syllable count with a "+" next to it, means you used a word not in the dictionary and the syllable counter will give an estimated amount, so "6+" would mean more than 6. In measure mode, you also have a syllable counter for each quarter measure so that you can try to break your lyrics up evenly or create a unique syllable pattern.

Measure Mode
Measure mode allows you to break your lyric into quarter measures. This is helpful for lyric recitation. It has the option to add a new measure, delete an old measure, and to randomize the number of syllables in each quarter measure to try out new patterns you may not have thought of. This mode also syncs with the metronome. The metronome will move along the quarter measures at your specified BPM (beats per minute) helping you to keep track when reciting your lyrics.
Hint: When adding a new measure, highlight a portion of your lyric and it will automatically populate your new measure. No need to copy or retype.

Word Lookup
Lyric also allows you to look up new words. Find rhymes and near rhymes for words you have already used or search for a synonym or definition for a word that just isn't quite right. Word lookup is a great tool and uses Datamuse's RhymeZone to give the most extensive possible results. After searching for a word your results are presented in a movable tab. This way you can work on your lyrics and see your search results simultaneously.
Hint: After selecting what you want to lookup, you can highlight any word in your lyric to automatically populate the input field. Saving you time.

Metronome
The metronome allows you to specify the BPMs and syncs with both the background of the application and the quarter measures (if in measure mode). This allows you to use the metronome either as an audio or visual reference. Also, the first of every 4 beats has a different tone and visual effect to help you keep track of quarter measures.

Notepad
Lyric also has a built-in notepad, which appears on the screen as a movable tab. This allows you to keep track of anything related to your lyrics without having to clutter your lyric itself. This helps keep the experience nice and clean.
Hint: If both the search tab and notes tab are open and you move one over top of the other, you can hit the note icon again to toggle which one appears in the front.

Rhyming Features
Additional rhyming features include the ability to include near rhymes in rhyme matching, the ability to exclude words from rhyme matching (for example, "and" and "the"), add your own rhymes and the ability to only include the last word of each line in rhyme matching.

General Settings
General Settings includes the ability to change font size, change the orientation of the app, change to "night mode", change color theme, the ability to hide the word lookup toolbar, and change how frequently it checks for rhymes (Hint: By default it is when you stop typing, however, if using a swipe keyboard you may need to extend the duration).
